Bot my first Jeep in 1972. Back then, it was Jeep is the tuffest 4 letter word on wheels. I still believe that. My first Jeep was a 1967 Kaiser Jeepster Convertable with the Continental Bumper, and deluxe trimmings. As a kid, I had no idea that it came with the worst possible tranny, clutch, and rear differential and steering system to ever be on a 4x4. So, as a young soldier at Fr. Carson Colorado, I'd load up with buddies and beer, and go off roading. We were too dumb to know it should not have been on the trails I took it on. I don't know how that death wobble ross steering, terrible console shift 3-speed, cable clutch, and tapered key-shafted axles took such a terrible beating. Plus Colorado trails with no winch, roll bar or seat belts. Played CW McCall on my 8-track player, while wheeling on trails, some of which no longer exist, or have been duded up with Ass Fault or Kon-kreet. Got caught by MP's on post, for running some of the track vehicle training roads. It was in this Jeep, where I learned how to pick good lines, and not hammer the clutch and throttle. That little Buick V-6 was the only good option. You yungins don't know the challenge of advancing the timing and setting the carb, before heading into high country, then returning it back, after coming down from up 14,000 feet. I still have that Jeepster, which is in boxes and bags, with many new parts. Hope I have enuff years to rebuild it. This time, with a Console shift, factory 400 turbo. Dana 44 Rear, and a Saginaw steering system up front. Plus it will be lifted for Aggressive tread 33 inch tires on 15x10 wheels. I named this Jeep (Eugene) Take a guess why. Does anyone know if I can use Go fund me for a project like this? I have had 7 other old Jeeps since then. My current 1985 CJ-7 has a 360 and it's name is ( The Prime Mover. Hope this didn't boar ya to teers.
